One of the biggest features in the Blackburn skyline for over 100 years has been the Gas Holder. This month will see the destruction of this iconic peice of Blackburn history. I wanted to capture this feature of the town in my project. Me and Blackburn BMX rider Danny went to visit the Gas holder to see if we could get a feel for the area.
I thought it would be a interesting to see if we could some how shoot a photograph of Danny jumping over the Gas Holder. We walked further up the hill until we found a spot to shoot then I led down on the floor and asked Danny to do some hops on his BMX. I used a 70mm lens so it was slightly telephoto, this flattens the perspective of the image. It took quite a while to get the right shot, but we were happy with the result in the end. Shot at 1/1000 shutter speed, F18 and ISO2500.
I also got some lifestyle shots of Danny whilst in the area.
